To be honest, when I first visited, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Is this really a forest?” In the daylight, with plastic-looking trees sparsely placed around the square, it didn’t quite evoke the feeling of a woodland. The setup seemed simple, likely designed to accommodate the performances held in the space.
But once night falls and the performances end, the atmosphere changes entirely. A gentle chorus of birdsong begins to fill the air, subtly transforming the square into something closer to an enchanted forest. As most people head toward the cathedral’s west façade for the lumière light show, Place du Château settles into a peaceful calm. In the coolness of the summer night, time seems to slow down, and the lingering heat of the day gently fades away.
